Unfortunately I had to skip a week of blogging because of health problems, I was mostly comatose from Saturday-Tuesday with flare ups of collapsing and syncope.
But better late than never! Here’s my lesson learned:
It’s possible to suffer bitterly or suffer well, full of despair or full of joy.
You have to choose every day which to do.
As I said, I’ve been having a lot of POTS flare ups and in general being unable to eat food again. But every exciting news, I am now an aunt! My sister gave birth to her first child, a healthy baby girl. I’ll probably be blogging a lot about her in the future, her name is Katerina.
I’ve been keeping up my weekly stream, every Thursday at 8:30 pm EST. I hope to make it more frequent, but for now I’m just doing it through Facebook and Instagram and don’t have a ton of viewers to reach.
I’ve also started my own curriculum for a sort of self-taught art school! It’s exciting, but I think I’ll make some modifications. I’m burning out too quickly because I’m not used to exercising in art so much.
Summary: Come watch my stream, exercising is hard. Also I’m an aunt now!
On the accomplished list this week, we had quite a lot! I’ll highlight just a few of the things I got finished while I was away. If you’d like to see the rest, including a ton of doodles, check out my Patreon page!
I’ve been experimenting a lot lately with new media and trying to learn techniques in every traditional style I can get my grubby paws on. It’s been so exciting to see the different methods you have to use in order to be successful with these! My very first coloured pencil drawing was difficult, but I think I’ll keep trying the pure pencil drawings.
As for the watercolours, I think this is the most relaxing type of painting I’ve found to date. The painting of Amaterasu quickly faded because I used such cheap materials, but couldn’t wait to try out better quality ones. I hope this week to release another Valentine’s Day piece!
Speaking of Valentine’s Day… my charr, Elysium, is channeling my inner spirit animal in this piece.
Summary: Give me ALL the mediums! They’re positively brilliant to work with!
Well thank you kindly for reading through another weekly update from me, I do apologise that I’ve missed a week already. Hopefully this will encourage me to be more tenacious in writing/posting earlier during Sunday. Today was exhausting for me, so I ended up spending most of it in recovery and sleep.
That’s all right though, work and rest are important to balance.
Upcoming projects this week I hope to accomplish:
- Dhralo and Kitari – Patreon Reward
- Skimmer Commission for Kevin
- Chadwick Boseman (BECAUSE REASONS)
- Beauty Series Painting
- Valentine’s Day simple drawing
- Inking colouring book page
- Book cover design
Summary: I really need to make smaller goals. Or at least less of them.
Well folks, that’s all for me. I hope that you have a productive and inspired week!
All praise and glory to the wonderful God who gives, and takes away.
